Deloitte Consultant Salary 2026: Filed Pay, Four Ladders

Deloitte filed a $167,835 median Manager salary across 179 US cities this year. Every Deloitte consultant salary band, grade by grade, on four ladders.

In short
  • Deloitte Consulting LLP filed 2,621 certified salary records with the US Department of Labor in the first three quarters of fiscal 2026, across 63 filed titles and 519 worksite cities.
  • On the consulting ladder the medians run Consultant $104,700, Senior Consultant $131,997, Manager $167,835, Senior Manager $213,075.
  • Three more grade ladders sit in the same filings, and the biggest of them is concentrated in three delivery cities.
  • Deloitte's own job ads publish a wage range and say it carries no geographic adjustment. The filings carry one per city.
  • Filed salary excludes bonus, signing bonus, and relocation. Deloitte calls bonus eligibility discretionary.

Deloitte Consulting LLP filed 2,621 certified salary records with the US Department of Labor in the first three quarters of fiscal 2026. Each record names a grade, a worksite city, and a dollar figure. Read together they give a Consultant median of $104,700, a Senior Consultant median of $131,997, and a Manager median of $167,835.

Every Deloitte Consulting grade salary, and where they overlap

Every figure in this section comes from certified Labor Condition Applications decided between 1 October 2025 and 30 June 2026. They sit in the Department of Labor disclosure file for the third quarter of fiscal 2026, checked 29 September 2026. Deloitte Consulting LLP accounts for 2,621 certified records there, across 63 distinct filed titles and 519 worksite cities.

Filed grade Filings Median filed salary Lowest filed Highest filed
Consultant 71 $104,700 $57,075 $148,000
Senior Consultant 351 $131,997 $56,534 $190,000
Manager 439 $167,835 $77,605 $249,200
Senior Manager 170 $213,075 $89,918 $304,200
Principal 10 $221,388 $136,573 $428,200
Managing Director 9 $286,270 $147,014 $345,586

Two features of that table matter more than the medians. The first is the width of each grade. Senior Consultant runs from $56,534 to $190,000, which is a spread of $133,466 inside one grade name. The second is the overlap. The Senior Consultant ceiling of $190,000 sits above the Manager median, so a well paid Senior Consultant can out-earn a median Manager on salary alone.

Compare that with the post-MBA strategy market. Wharton's 2025 Career Report puts the Class of 2025 consulting median base at $190,000, which is the Senior Consultant ceiling here and well above the Manager median. Deloitte Consulting hires post-MBA graduates too, and its filings do not carry an MBA flag, so the two figures describe overlapping populations rather than the same one.

Reading about Deloitte is not preparing for Deloitte.

Four grade ladders live inside the same filing entity

The 63 filed titles are not 63 one-off descriptions. They resolve into four parallel ladders, each with its own rungs, all filed by Deloitte Consulting LLP in the same nine months.

That filer is worth a word, because it is the reason this page can exist. Deloitte Consulting LLP is a Delaware subsidiary of Deloitte LLP, separately capitalized and liable only for its own work, and it is the entity a US consulting offer comes from. The global network publishes no dollar figure for any of its businesses, so the entity is where the numbers are. Its place in the structure is on Deloitte strategy consulting.

Tier Consulting ladder "Solution" ladder "Specialist" ladder Project Delivery ladder
Entry Consultant $104,700 "Solution Analyst" $85,450 "Project Delivery Analyst" $77,828
Second Senior Consultant $131,997 "Solution Specialist" $94,411 "Specialist Senior" $132,950 "Project Delivery Senior Analyst" $95,490
Third "Senior Solution Specialist" $114,379 "Specialist Master" $172,350 "Project Delivery Specialist" $123,962
Manager Manager $167,835 "Solution Manager" $145,900 "Project Delivery Manager" $151,350
Senior Senior Manager $213,075 "Senior Solution Manager" $181,632 "Specialist Leader" $211,988 "Project Delivery Lead" $178,043

Each cell is the median filed salary for that title. Rung names do not line up across ladders, so read the table down a column rather than across a row.

The entry row is where a Deloitte starting salary actually sits, and it sits in three places at once: $104,700 on the consulting ladder, $85,450 as a filed Solution Analyst, $77,828 as a filed Project Delivery Analyst. A Deloitte analyst salary therefore depends on which ladder the offer letter names, and $104,700 against $77,828 is a $26,872 gap at the first rung.

The "Solution" ladder is the largest single block in the file after Manager and Senior Consultant, and it is geographically concentrated. Lake Mary, Florida carries 167 filings, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania 113, and Sanford, Florida 108. Of the 167 Lake Mary records, 54 are "Senior Solution Specialist" and 34 are "Solution Specialist". Neither Consultant nor Senior Consultant appears there in any number.

One more composition fact sets the ceiling on how much this file can tell you about strategy work. By occupational code, Software Developers accounts for 1,548 of the 2,621 Deloitte Consulting records, Computer and Information Systems Managers for 271, and the code "Management Analysts" for 60. The filings describe a heavily technology weighted population. A Deloitte IT consultant salary is therefore most of what this file measures, and a Deloitte management consulting salary is its thinnest slice: 60 records under the Management Analysts code against 1,548 under Software Developers.

Why no Deloitte partner salary appears on this page

The ladders above stop at Managing Director and Principal, and that is where the primary record stops too. The highest grades resolved from this quarter's disclosure file are Managing Director at a $286,270 median on nine filings and Principal at $221,388 on ten. No partner grade appears among the ladders resolved from that file, and none of the five Deloitte job ads read for this page posts a range for a partner role.

So a Deloitte partner salary, or a managing partner salary, cannot be built from either record this page uses. The Department of Labor field is a wage paid to an employee at a worksite. A posted range covers a requisition the firm is currently hiring against. Neither instrument is built to reach the top of a professional services firm, and Deloitte publishes no figure of its own there.

That leaves two honest readings. The $221,388 Principal median and the $286,270 Managing Director median are the highest figures in this file, and each rests on fewer than a dozen filings, which is thin beside the 439 Manager records in the same nine months. And any precise partner number circulating elsewhere comes from self-reporting, which this page does not publish at any grade.

Deloitte's posted range, above the consulting salary it files

Deloitte publishes a wage range on its US job ads, and the wording is the firm's own. A Workday Financials Senior Consultant ad reads: "The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $116,000 to $229,100."

Posted role Posted range Width of the range
Consultant, Strategy, Growth, and Transformation $76,600 to $157,200 $80,600
Consultant, Engineering Technology Strategy and Transformation $86,700 to $170,900 $84,200
Senior Consultant, Strategy, Growth, and Transformation $93,000 to $171,300 $78,300
Workday Financials Senior Consultant $116,000 to $229,100 $113,100
ServiceNow Moveworks Consulting Manager $141,200 to $278,300 $137,100

Now put the two sources together. That Senior Consultant range is $113,100 wide. The filed Senior Consultant median of $131,997 sits $15,997 above the $116,000 floor, which places it 14 percent of the way up the band. Of the 351 filed Senior Consultant salaries, 29 sit above the band midpoint of $172,550, and 122 sit below the $116,000 floor entirely. Deloitte writes that hiring near the top of a band is unusual. Its own filings bear that out.

Read any Deloitte range you are shown the same way. The top number describes a ceiling for a rare candidate in a hot market. The figure a median hire receives sits in the bottom fifth of the band.

The Deloitte senior consultant salary moves with the practice

Deloitte posts different ranges for the same grade depending on the practice. The Strategy, Growth, and Transformation Senior Consultant ad publishes $93,000 to $171,300. The Workday Senior Consultant ad publishes $116,000 to $229,100. The floor differs by $23,000 and the ceiling by $57,800, at one grade, on the same careers site, on the same day.

The direction may surprise you. Strategy work carries the prestige, and here the technology implementation range is the higher of the two. The Strategy, Growth, and Transformation Consultant ad shows the same pattern one grade down at $76,600 to $157,200.

Two cautions before you build a career decision on it. A posted range covers one requisition with one set of required skills, so two ads are two data points about two jobs. And Deloitte's filings name the grade without naming the practice, so the file cannot confirm the pattern at scale. What the ads do establish is that "the Deloitte Senior Consultant range" is not a single published number.

Are you ready to get an offer at Deloitte?

A 36 percent city gap the posted range hides

Deloitte states in writing that its posted range carries no geographic adjustment. Its filings carry one per city. Deloitte filed 217 distinct salaries across 351 Senior Consultant records in 139 cities, and 281 distinct salaries across 439 Manager records in 179 cities.

Worksite city Senior Consultant median Filings Manager median Filings
San Francisco, CA $146,500 14 $177,932 9
San Jose, CA $143,211 13 $167,505 16
Jersey City, NJ $139,900 13
New York, NY $131,997 25 $168,688 24
Boston, MA $174,216 9
Dallas, TX $112,923 18 $156,998 22
Atlanta, GA $109,283 12 $152,131 18
Chicago, IL $108,077 26 $158,506 24

San Francisco sits $38,423 above Chicago at Senior Consultant, which is 36 percent higher. That is a real gap on a real sample, and it is the opposite of what McKinsey files, where one national floor covers every US office. If you are weighing two Deloitte offices, the salary line genuinely moves, and our pay by city page carries the cross firm picture.

Blank cells above mean the city had fewer than nine filings at that grade, so no median is shown.

What a filed Deloitte consultant salary leaves out

The Department of Labor defines the field plainly. Its record layout calls it "Wage paid to nonimmigrant workers at the First Worksite Location". That is salary and nothing else. It carries no annual bonus, no signing bonus, no relocation allowance, and no retirement contribution.

Deloitte's ads say the role "may also be eligible for discretionary annual incentive programs", without a target percentage. So a Deloitte total first-year figure cannot be built from primary sources, and this page publishes none.

One legal detail makes the filing worth more than a visa statistic. The Department of Labor rule on the required wage states that "the required wage rate must be the higher of the actual wage rate (the rate the employer pays to all other individuals with similar experience and qualifications who are performing the same job), or the prevailing wage". The filed figure therefore has to clear what Deloitte pays comparable staff in the same job and city. It is bounded by internal pay, which is why it says something about Deloitte rather than about one hire.

Where a Deloitte offer actually moves

Salary sits inside a grade band that a recruiter did not set. Everything attached to it is more open. In rough order of how often each one moves:

  1. Start date. The cheapest ask and the one most often granted. A later start can be worth more than money.
  2. Signing bonus. One time, discretionary, and the usual home for a competing offer.
  3. Practice and service line. The ranges above show that the practice you enter carries its own band, and it also decides your client base and your travel.
  4. Office. Worth $38,423 at the Senior Consultant median between San Francisco and Chicago, before any cost of living adjustment on your side.
  5. Grade. Rare, and it only moves on documented prior experience. Inside a grade, the filed spread shows how much room exists.

Bring a sourced number to that conversation. "The Department of Labor file for this fiscal year puts the Deloitte Consulting Senior Consultant median at $131,997" is a sentence a recruiter can check in an afternoon. Our offer negotiation guide covers the rest of the conversation, and the consulting salary guide sets these figures beside other firms.

Practicing the round that decides which band applies

None of this matters until an offer exists, and at Deloitte the offer runs through a case interview. Our math drill grades a calculation in seconds and returns a dimension by dimension scorecard. We wrote that scorecard ourselves, and the weights we use for a quantitative answer are published on our method page.

Dimension Weight we assign, out of 100
Answer 40
Working 25
Interpretation 20
Units 15

No firm publishes a marking scheme, Deloitte included, so treat that table as our reading of what a good quantitative answer contains. Two things the drill does not do. It teaches no business content. And our assessment simulators are not running: the /assessments page states that 0 of 6 simulators are live, and it says so on the page rather than in a footnote. What exists today is the drills and the graded scorecard, free to open without an account.

A drill is also a cheap test of whether the offer conversation is close at all. If a three minute calculation falls apart under the clock, the table at the top of this page describes a population you are not yet in. Our Deloitte case interview guide covers the format itself.

What the earlier Deloitte page on this URL got wrong

29 September 2026. An earlier version of this page ran to about 330 words and published no figure at all. It opened by saying that we do not publish a Deloitte salary table because Deloitte does not publish one either. Both halves of that sentence were wrong.

Deloitte publishes a wage range on every US job ad it posts, with a dollar floor and a dollar ceiling, because pay transparency law requires it. And Deloitte files a salary per grade and per city with the Department of Labor several thousand times a year. Both records were public and dated when that version was written, and neither had been opened.

That version also said that Deloitte's figures move by office, which is true here, and then declined to show by how much. It is $38,423 at the Senior Consultant median between San Francisco and Chicago. Declining to publish a number we could have measured was presented as rigor. It was an absence of research.

8 October 2026. The total number of certified records appeared as 2,621 in five places and as 2,622 in one, inside the paragraph on occupational codes. The registry sources 2,621, so that is the figure the page now carries throughout. The disclosure file was not reopened to settle the digit, and the three code counts quoted in that paragraph do not depend on the total.

How this guide was made

  • Written against a published editorial process, not from memory. Every claim about a firm's process is either linked to that firm's own page or absent. We say what we could not verify rather than filling the gap.
  • Each page carries a dated source ledger, below. When a firm changes a programme or a deadline, the date tells you how far to trust what you just read.

We look for first-hand candidate accounts for every firm guide. Where we found none we could source, the page says so and carries the firm's own words instead. Nothing here is dressed up as testimony, and if your own experience contradicts what you read, tell us and we will correct it and date the change.
