Bain online assessment: practise SOVA free

Most Bain candidates get SOVA; some offices use TestGorilla. Try two SOVA-style questions free, then prepare the test your invitation names.

Bain SOVA · Free sampler

Two items, six minutes

  • A single question on reading numerical data
  • A single question on abstract pattern logic
  • Worked reasoning after each, no account needed

Which of the two routes does your invitation name?

RouteProviderWhat candidates report
SOVASova AssessmentA timed mix commonly reported as numerical, logical, verbal, situational judgment and personality sections
TestGorillaTestGorillaAn alternate screening route some offices use, with the section mix set by the recruiting team

The mix of sections is not uniform across offices or cycles. Trust your invitation over any description of it, including this one.

Questions

What does Bain run before the interviews?
A pre-interview screen. Most candidates report SOVA, a timed aptitude battery. Some offices route candidates through TestGorilla instead.
Is there a free way to rehearse SOVA?
Yes. The sampler here runs one numerical data-interpretation item and one abstract pattern sequence, with worked reasoning after each, and needs no account.
Is the personality section something you can fail?
It is not scored like the reasoning sections. It reads for consistency, so answering as you would actually work matters more than guessing a profile.
What preparation actually moves the result?
Confirm the route your invitation names, then drill that format under time. For SOVA, accuracy on data interpretation carries the most weight.

The test is a gate, not the interview. What comes after it is in the Bain case interview guide, and the same two-test pattern shows up at other firms — EY runs three sections on one clock, Altman Solon times its test then leads the case.
