How to tell us that something here infringes your copyright, what we do when you do, and the rules we apply to our own material. We would rather hear from you directly than from your host.

If you think we have used your work

Write to us through the contact form with the subject "Copyright". To let us act quickly, include:

  • The work you own, identified well enough that we can recognise it.
  • The page or pages on this site where you say it appears, by URL.
  • Your name, your role in relation to the work, and how to reach you.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information is accurate, and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
  • Your signature, electronic or physical.

What we do when we receive one

We acknowledge it, read the page against your claim, and act on what we find rather than on reflex. Where the claim is well founded we remove or rewrite the material and tell you what changed. Where we think the use is lawful, we say so and explain why, rather than going quiet.

We do not claim safe harbour under section 512 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act for our own writing. That protection exists for platforms hosting what other people upload, and this site publishes material we wrote. We handle complaints because it is the right way to run a publication, not because a statute shields us from them.

If your material was removed and you disagree

Write to us with the material identified, the reason you believe the removal was a mistake or a misidentification, and how to reach you. We will reconsider and tell you the outcome.

Our rules on other people's material

These are the rules we hold ourselves to, and you can hold us to them too:

  • We quote, we do not reproduce. Where we describe what a firm or vendor publishes, we quote the passage that supports the point and link the source, rather than reproducing the document.
  • We host no case book. School case books are the work of student clubs, and several schools publish that their clubs are separate legal entities. We describe what a case book contains and who publishes it, we never host a copy, never reproduce a prompt, exhibit or solution from one, and never link to an unauthorised copy.
  • We do not use another firm's logo as our own ornament. Where we have no licensed mark, we use a typographic treatment instead.
  • Our source registers name where we read something and when. If an entry ever points somewhere it should not, tell us and we will remove it the same day.

Our own material

The guides, cases, drills, exhibits and feedback on this site belong to PAP CONSULTING FZ LLE unless a page says otherwise. Quoting a passage with attribution and a link is welcome. Republishing a page, reselling our cases, or using them to build or train a competing product is not, and we do enforce that.

Repeat infringement

We close accounts used repeatedly to take our material or to post infringing content.

Questions about this page go to our contact form, which reaches PAP CONSULTING FZ LLE directly.
