Accenture Consultant Salary 2026: Where Offers Land

The Accenture consultant salary range runs $59,100 to $188,100 on its own posting, while its 116 Manager filings cluster between $163,500 and $175,600.

In short
  • Accenture publishes salary ranges in its US job postings, location by location, because pay transparency law requires it. Three live postings read on 29 September 2026 give $59,100 to $188,100 at Consultant, $87,400 to $253,000 at Manager, and $122,700 to $317,200 at Senior Manager.
  • Those ranges are roughly three times as wide at the top as at the bottom, so a posting alone cannot tell you what an offer looks like.
  • The Labor Department filings narrow it. Accenture filed 116 Business Architecture Manager salaries in fiscal 2026, median $167,300, with the middle half between $163,500 and $175,600.
  • Accenture files close to the government benchmark: a median ratio of 1.17 against 1.71 at BCG and 1.66 at McKinsey. That is why its pay moves by city while theirs does not.
  • Accenture filed 202 distinct job titles and publishes no map from them to its career levels.

Accenture already publishes its salary ranges. US pay transparency law requires it, so every US posting carries a table of locations and dollar figures written by the firm. The problem is the width: on the Consultant posting the top of the range is more than three times the bottom, which makes it true and nearly useless on its own. The Labor Department filings close that gap by showing where the offers actually landed.

The three Accenture salary ranges posted in September 2026

Read on 29 September 2026, with the posting date taken from the structured data on each page:

Posting Posted Range Jurisdictions listed
Customer Growth Strategy Consultant 15 September 2026 $59,100 to $188,100 13
Mergers and Acquisition Strategy Manager 28 September 2026 $87,400 to $253,000 14
Leadership Acceleration Strategy Consulting Senior Manager 8 September 2026 $122,700 to $317,200 13

The firm explains its own method in the same paragraph on all three: "Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired as set forth below."

Three observations before the arithmetic. The ranges step up cleanly by level, and the Consultant ceiling of $188,100 sits well above the Manager floor of $87,400, so a level is not a pay bracket here. Each range is wide: the Consultant top is more than three times its bottom. And the dates matter, because these tables are rewritten per requisition and expire with the posting.

Take the readiness check

The Accenture salary ceiling holds while the floor moves by state

Look at the Consultant posting location by location and one pattern jumps out. The ceiling is $188,100 in all thirteen jurisdictions. The floor is $59,100 in ten of them and moves in exactly three: California to $70,350, New York to $66,300, and Washington to $80,200.

California, New York, and Washington are also three of the jurisdictions with the most detailed pay disclosure statutes. Accenture offers no explanation for the pattern and we will not invent one, so the observation stands on its own. The two more senior postings do not move at all: the Manager range is $87,400 to $253,000 in fourteen jurisdictions and the Senior Manager range is $122,700 to $317,200 in thirteen, with no variation of a single dollar.

So the posted range answers a legal question well and a candidate's question badly. It tells you the widest band Accenture would consider filling the requisition inside. It does not tell you where similar people are being paid, which is the question you carry into an offer call. That is what the next section is for.

The Accenture salary filings for consultants, level by level

Accenture filed 1,488 Labor Condition Applications decided between 1 October 2025 and 30 June 2026, 1,467 of them certified, in the Department of Labor disclosure file for the third quarter of fiscal 2026, checked 29 September 2026. Its consulting track is filed under the Business Architecture titles, and every filing there carries a single salary rather than a band, which produces a distribution.

Filed title Filings Lowest 25th Median 75th Highest Distinct values
"Business Architecture Specialist" 18 $98,770 $106,579 $109,100 $123,100 $131,997 11
"Business Architecture Associate Manager" 74 $113,300 $130,707 $138,500 $146,800 $192,200 44
"Business Architecture Manager" 116 $139,320 $163,500 $167,300 $175,600 $223,142 55
"Business Architecture Senior Manager" 68 $165,700 $203,300 $214,300 $214,500 $228,600 27

Two features of this table have no equivalent at the strategy firms. The distinct value counts are enormous: 55 different Manager salaries across 116 filings, spread over 61 cities. And the levels overlap, with the Associate Manager top of $192,200 above the Manager 75th percentile of $175,600. The Department of Labor record layout defines the field as the "Wage paid to nonimmigrant workers at the First Worksite Location", so these are salaries rather than packages.

Half the Manager offers sit inside 7 percent of the band

Now put the two sources together, which is the whole point of reading both. Accenture posted a Manager range of $87,400 to $253,000. The range is therefore $165,600 wide, because $253,000 minus $87,400 is $165,600.

The filed median of $167,300 sits $79,900 above the posted floor, since $167,300 minus $87,400 is $79,900. As a share of the range, $79,900 divided by $165,600 is 0.482, so the median offer lands just under halfway up the band Accenture published.

The narrowing is sharper than that. The middle half of the filed Manager salaries runs from $163,500 to $175,600, a span of $12,100. Against a posted range of $165,600 that span is 0.073, or about 7 percent. Fifty-eight of the 116 filings sit inside 7 percent of the published range.

That is the sentence to take into a conversation. A recruiter quoting a range from $87,400 to $253,000 is quoting accurately. Half the people hired into that title were filed between $163,500 and $175,600, and both numbers come from documents either party can open.

A 17 percent premium is why Accenture salaries move by city

Every certified annual filing carries a government benchmark next to the salary. Comparing the two across firms explains the difference in one figure:

Firm Annual filings compared Filed exactly at the benchmark Median filed over benchmark
BCG 626 3 1.71
McKinsey 453 2 1.66
Bain 100 0 1.43
Accenture 1,464 229 1.17

Accenture files 17 percent above the local benchmark at the median, and 229 of its filings land on the benchmark to the dollar. The strategy firms file 43 to 71 percent above it and almost never touch it.

That single ratio explains the geography. The benchmark is a local figure by construction, so a firm that prices near it inherits the local variation, while a firm that prices far above it can hold one national number and still clear every local floor. The Labor Department's required wage rule says the filed rate "must be the higher of the actual wage rate (the rate the employer pays to all other individuals with similar experience and qualifications who are performing the same job), or the prevailing wage". Accenture satisfies that test close to the line, and its pay map looks like a map as a result.

The same title, city by city

The Manager filings make the variation concrete. Houston carries thirteen of them, ranging from $150,000 to $170,300. Atlanta carries six, from $154,200 to $176,900. Charlotte carries six, from $140,795 to $168,968. New York carries two, at $185,400 and $188,200.

The extremes are geographic. The lowest Manager salary filed anywhere is $139,320 in Cedar Park, Texas, and the highest is $223,142 in Mountain View, California, a gap of $83,822 on one title. Fremont and Mountain View filings cluster at $192,200 and above, and $192,200 is also the highest Associate Manager salary in the file, filed in nearby San Jose.

Compare that with what a promotion pays. The median Associate Manager is filed at $138,500 and the median Manager at $167,300, a step of $28,800. The spread within the Manager title alone is $83,822, almost three times the step. Neither the posted range nor a national average will show you that. Our consulting pay by city page handles the cost of living side, which cuts the other way and has to be weighed against it.

Accenture

Are you ready to get an offer at Accenture?

Two hundred and two filed titles, and no published map

Accenture filed 202 distinct job titles across 328 cities and 42 states. Business Architecture is one family among many, and the neighbors pay differently: Packaged App Development Manager has 138 filings with a median of $146,400, while Business Architecture Manager has 116 with a median of $167,300. Both say Manager.

The same title is also filed under eleven different occupational codes, including Management Analysts and several information technology codes. That rules out using the occupational code to identify the consulting track, and it means a filing search on Accenture returns a company rather than a practice.

The practical consequence is that Accenture publishes no table linking a job title to a career level. Its postings name the role, and the range attaches to the role. The useful question at offer stage is therefore which filed title your requisition matches, and the tables above are the only public place to check it. If your posting names a title absent from them, the range in your own posting is the better source, and it is written by the firm.

What the posted range and the filed salary both leave out

Both sources are salary. Neither carries a bonus, a signing bonus, relocation, or equity. The Consultant posting names the rest without pricing any of it: "Accenture offers a market competitive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, bonus opportunities, paid holidays, and paid time off."

Bonus opportunities is as specific as Accenture gets in public, and it is a weaker statement than the strategy firms make. Bain names an annual discretionary performance bonus and a 401(k) contribution scaled to years of service, quoted with its source on our Bain salary page. BCG names a Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund contribution with fully vested annual payments, quoted on our BCG salary page. Accenture names a plan and an opportunity, with no percentage, no cap, and no vesting detail.

There is one further gap specific to a listed company. Accenture grants equity at senior levels, and neither a posting range nor a Labor Condition Application records it. Anyone comparing an Accenture senior offer with a partnership offer is comparing two instruments, and this page has data on only one of them. For the market context around the cash number, Booth's 2025 employment report puts 37.8 percent of its class into consulting with a $30,000 median signing bonus across all functions and an all function base median of $175,000.

What to negotiate when the published range is this wide

A wide posted range changes the tactics. At a firm that files one national number there is nothing to argue about on base. Here there are 55 different Manager salaries, so base is genuinely in play, and the question becomes what evidence moves it.

  1. Your own posting's range, quoted back. It is written by Accenture, it names your location, and it is the only document in the conversation that both sides already accept.
  2. A comparable filing. For Atlanta that sentence reads: Manager filings there ran from $154,200 to $176,900 in fiscal 2026. It is checkable in the public file, and it is the strongest base argument a candidate can bring.
  3. Signing bonus. One time, discretionary, and the standard home for a competing offer. The market median across school reports is $30,000.
  4. Start date. Usually the cheapest thing to ask for, and it costs the firm nothing in salary.
  5. Office and practice. Neither is money. At Accenture they also decide which of the 202 title families you sit in, which is the largest long term financial variable on this list.

Negotiating a consulting offer covers the sequencing, and the consulting salary guide puts these numbers beside the strategy firms on the same basis.

Four gaps in the Accenture salary data

Managing Director pay. The filings stop at Senior Manager for the consulting titles, and the posted ranges do too. Senior pay at Accenture includes equity that no public document in this set records.

Total first-year cash. No source read here adds salary, bonus, and signing bonus into one Accenture number, because Accenture publishes no bonus figure. A total would be arithmetic performed on a guess.

Pay outside the United States. Both the postings and the filings read for this page are US documents. Nothing above applies to an offer made anywhere else, and we have read no primary source on those markets.

Pay for staff no filing covers. A Labor Condition Application exists only where a role is filed for sponsorship. The required wage rule ties the filed number to comparable internal pay, which is the strongest claim this data supports, and it still leaves a sample rather than a census.

Two of those four gaps are closable by one document, and you may already hold it. An Accenture offer letter states the base, the bonus target if there is one, the equity grant if there is one, and the start date. The public record cannot reach any of that. What the public record does give you is the comparison: the range Accenture wrote for your own requisition, and the salaries it filed for the same title in the same metro during the nine months to 30 June 2026. Read your letter against those two, and the remaining unknown is what your own performance rating does to the bonus line, which nobody publishes at any firm.

Testing the answer you give under time pressure

Every figure above describes people holding an offer already. Getting one runs through the Accenture case interview, and the moment that decides most of them is the last one, when you are asked what you would tell the client.

Our synthesis drill marks that answer against four weights we wrote and keep in src/lib/grading/rubrics.ts: Answer first 35, Evidence 25, Risk 20, Next step 20. The heaviest weight sits on leading with the recommendation, which is a choice we made when we wrote the scale and which the method page defends. These weights are our own scale. No firm publishes a marking scheme, and the method page sets out how we arrived at ours.

Two limits worth naming. The drills teach no business content, since the interview tests reasoning rather than recall. And our assessment simulators are not running: the /assessments page states that 0 of 6 simulators are live, on the page itself. What works today is the drills and the graded scorecard, and neither asks for an account.

The claim this page used to make, and could not support

29 September 2026. The earlier version of this page was about 380 words long and rested on one sentence: "A pay table needs a publisher, and Accenture states no consulting salary grid on its careers site." That sentence was false when it was written.

Accenture publishes a salary range in every US posting covered by pay transparency law, and three such ranges are quoted above with their posting dates. Writing that a firm publishes nothing, without having opened a live posting, is an absence of research presented as caution. The Labor Department file holding 1,467 certified Accenture filings was equally public.

The old page also said that level sets most of the amount and the office sets the rest. The filings show something closer to the reverse for a single title: $139,320 to $223,142 for Business Architecture Manager, with the top of the level below sitting above the 75th percentile of the level above. Level and city are entangled here, and that is the honest version.

30 September 2026. The opening paragraph described the posted ranges as three times as wide at the top as at the bottom, which is not what the numbers show. The widths grow by about half from the Consultant range to the Senior Manager range. What is three times over is the ratio inside one range: the Consultant ceiling of $188,100 against a floor of $59,100. The sentence now says that instead.

How this guide was made

  • Written against a published editorial process, not from memory. Every claim about a firm's process is either linked to that firm's own page or absent. We say what we could not verify rather than filling the gap.
  • Each page carries a dated source ledger, below. When a firm changes a programme or a deadline, the date tells you how far to trust what you just read.

We look for first-hand candidate accounts for every firm guide. Where we found none we could source, the page says so and carries the firm's own words instead. Nothing here is dressed up as testimony, and if your own experience contradicts what you read, tell us and we will correct it and date the change.
