ClearView Healthcare Partners 2026: Who It Hires and Pays
ClearView Healthcare Partners is a life sciences strategy firm founded in Boston in 2007. Nineteen partners, six offices, and pay bands in its own job postings.
- ClearView Healthcare Partners is a strategy consulting firm that works only in the life sciences. It was founded in Boston in 2007 by Rich Mynahan, Steve Chao and Kevin Richard.
- The firm says more than half of its consultants hold a life sciences PhD. It publishes no headcount at all, at any date, so the only size figure it owns is the nineteen partners on its leadership page.
- GHO Capital took a majority stake on 31 August 2021, buying it from RLH Equity Partners. The price is undisclosed and no public page carries it.
- Its US job postings publish pay bands: 110,000 to 120,000 dollars for a Senior Analyst, 125,000 to 145,000 for a Consultant, 190,000 to 220,000 for a project lead. The entry Analyst band is not published.
- The firm publishes two full practice cases with worked answers, and a seven-point prep list. Its insulin case rounds twice, and the honest capture figure is 5.3 percent rather than 5.
ClearView Healthcare Partners is a strategy consulting firm that works only in the life sciences. It was founded in Boston in 2007, it runs six offices, and GHO Capital has held a majority stake since 31 August 2021. Every figure below comes from a page the firm or its owner publishes, with the date it was read. Sources checked 8 October 2026.
Two things make this firm unusual among houses of its size. It publishes two complete practice cases with worked answers. And it publishes pay bands for most of its US consulting rungs, while publishing no headcount at all.
What ClearView Healthcare Partners says it is
The firm's own account of itself sits on The ClearView Way. It names a single belief and a single market.
The founding line reads: "In 2007, ClearView was founded based on the belief that companies driving innovation in the life sciences need a partner that can combine deep scientific expertise, robust analytic approaches, and sound business instincts to create actionable and impactful results."
Three words in that sentence set the hiring bar. Deep scientific expertise is the first thing the firm claims, ahead of analytics and ahead of business judgment. The same page states the consequence: "Our consultants are intellectually curious and business savvy, all with scientific backgrounds and more than half with a life sciences PhD."
The firm also claims a position for itself. It says the formula "has enabled us to become the largest independent life-science focused strategy consultancy". That is a claim about independence and focus together. Larger firms do more life sciences work in absolute terms, and they are not independent of a wider practice.
Seven service lines appear in its own navigation: Pharma & Biotech, MedTech & Diagnostics, Pricing & Market Access, Advanced Analytics, Launch & Commercialization, Expert Research Solutions, and Investor Support Services. Nothing on that list sits outside healthcare.
Reading about ClearView Healthcare Partners is not preparing for ClearView Healthcare Partners.
Take the readiness checkThe size figures ClearView Healthcare Partners never publishes
The firm is private, and it prints no staff count anywhere. Its about page omits it. So do its press releases, its job postings, and its owner's portfolio page. That absence is worth knowing, because it is the first number most readers come looking for.
One count does exist, and the firm publishes it by listing people. Its leadership page named nineteen partners on 8 October 2026. The page adds a claim of "a collective 250+ years of experience" for that group, which works out to roughly thirteen years each.
The six offices are published as street addresses rather than as a count.
| Office | Address the firm publishes |
|---|---|
| Boston | 275 Washington Street, Suite 405, Newton, MA |
| New York | 111 W 33 Street, 9th Floor |
| San Francisco | 575 Market Street, 12th Floor |
| London | Henry Wood House, 4-5 Langham Place, 7th Floor |
| Zurich | c/o TMF Services SA, Talstrasse 83 |
| Gurgaon | Atrium Place, 6th Floor, Block C, Sector 19 |
Note the Boston line. The firm says Boston and gives a Newton address, which is a separate city just west of it. London and Zurich both opened on 23 July 2021. Gurgaon is described on the current page as "our latest addition".
Any headcount you see for this firm comes from a data vendor rather than from the firm. We do not repeat those figures, because nobody who publishes them says how they were counted or when.
Who owns ClearView Healthcare Partners, and since when
GHO Capital Partners LLP holds the majority. The joint announcement is dated "London, UK, and Boston, MA, 31 August, 2021" and calls the deal "a majority recapitalization".
Three details in it matter for a candidate.
- The sellers were another fund. The release says GHO bought "from RLH Equity Partners", which makes GHO at least the second outside owner the firm has had.
- The founders stayed. It names "Rich Mynahan, Steve Chao and Kevin Richard" and says founders and leadership retained "a material ownership position".
- The price is undisclosed. The release uses that word. No figure appears on the firm's site or on its owner's site.
A majority recapitalization is worth translating, because the word hides the mechanics. The fund buys most of the equity and the existing owners roll some of their stake into the new structure. The founders keep a stake and usually keep their seats. All three founders still appear on the leadership page, five years on.
The release states what the new owner said it would back. GHO described supporting "driving international expansion and building out its domain expertise", and it named growth "via M&A" as one route. The timing is close. London and Zurich opened on 23 July 2021, five weeks before the deal was announced, and Gurgaon is described on the current site as the latest addition.
The firm has since made one investment of its own that it put a number on. On 10 January 2025 it announced "a strategic $4,000,000 minority investment in Epistemic AI". That release also gives Richard Mynahan the title of Managing Partner.
What the ownership does not tell you is anything about hiring volume or pay. Neither the firm nor GHO publishes a growth plan, a target headcount or a holding period, so we draw no inference from the structure.
The eight rungs from Analyst to Managing Director
The firm's experienced hires page is the most useful page on its site. It names every rung in order and states what each one takes.
| Rung | What the firm says it takes |
|---|---|
| Analyst | A bachelor's or master's in the life sciences |
| Senior Analyst | Over one and a half years in life sciences consulting |
| Consultant | An advanced degree plus a year, or promotion from Senior Analyst |
| Senior Consultant | An MD, PhD or MBA plus at least two years |
| Engagement Manager | Excelling at several projects at once as a Senior Consultant |
| Associate Principal | Building client relationships and anticipating client needs |
| Principal | Trust with clients and the ability to initiate projects alone |
| Managing Director | The same, with full responsibility from sales to delivery |
The Consultant row carries the sentence that matters most to an undergraduate. The firm writes that it "believes strongly in a system of merit-based promotions which enable capable Senior Analysts to grow into the Consultant role and beyond without having received an advanced degree."
Read that against the PhD claim and you get the real picture. More than half of the consultants hold a doctorate, and the ladder has a published route that skips one.
One project at a time, and what the first two weeks hold
The firm publishes the mechanics of its own staffing, which very few houses do. Its careers FAQ answers six questions and every answer is a number or a rule.
| What the FAQ answers | The published answer |
|---|---|
| Projects at once | "only one project at a time" |
| Typical project length | "about 4-6 weeks" |
| Typical team size | "between 4-6 people" |
| Clients | Biotech, pharmaceutical, medical devices and diagnostics |
| Cross office teams | Yes, teams may mix offices |
The single staffing model has a stated purpose. The firm writes that it keeps "100% of team time" on one client, and lists a subset of leadership alongside each team.
One rung reads differently. The posting for a Consulting Project Team Lead says the role "manages anywhere from 2 to upwards of 5 projects of varying complexity at a time". So the one project promise describes the delivery team and stops at the person leading it. No firm page puts those two statements next to each other.
Onboarding is published too, on the Why ClearView page. Week one is a case the new hire has to deliver: "a case-based training ... including mock calls with physicians, real secondary research, and a final presentation of their findings to their 'client'." Week two is training modules. After that every new hire shadows a tenured colleague for the first few months, and each person gets a coach from the extended leadership team plus a buddy at the same career stage.
Office attendance is published inside the postings rather than on a policy page. The Senior Analyst posting sets it out in steps: 100 percent in office during onboarding, 80 percent through month nine, then 50 percent after that.
The three entry titles, read off live postings
The firm's careers pages describe roles in general terms. Its job board names them exactly, which is the version worth preparing against.
| Entry route | Title in the live posting | Degree the posting asks for |
|---|---|---|
| Undergraduate or master's | Life Sciences Strategy Analyst | Life sciences major or minor |
| Undergraduate or master's | Life Sciences Summer Analyst Intern | Life sciences major or minor |
| PhD, MD or post-doc | Consultant | An advanced degree in the life sciences |
| Pre-MBA experience | Senior Consultant | MBA, with two years of prior work |
| Statistics or computing | Data Analyst | Statistics, computer science or related |
The campus dates are published and tight. The London Strategy Analyst posting sets the deadline in capitals: "DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS ARE 30 OCTOBER 2026 AT 11:59PM GMT. INTERVIEWS WILL BEGIN IN LATE NOVEMBER." The cohort starts on 13 September 2027, and candidates must graduate between December 2026 and August 2027.
The summer internship posting shares that deadline. It runs "from 12 July to 10 September 2027", which is a little over eight working weeks, and the firm calls it nine. The careers site names the host offices for it: San Francisco, New York City, Boston and London.
One requirement in both campus postings is new enough to be worth quoting whole. Under Requirements, the firm asks candidates to "Leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to accelerate research synthesis and deliver insights faster than traditional methods". That is a listed requirement rather than a culture note.
The Data Analyst route was closed on the day we read it. Its careers page says: "We are currently NOT accepting applications for this position."

What ClearView Healthcare Partners pays, by its own postings
US pay transparency law pushes these bands into the open, and the firm complies posting by posting. The figures below were read off its job board on 8 October 2026.
| Rung | Band the posting publishes | Office |
|---|---|---|
| Senior Analyst | $110,000 to $120,000 | New York |
| Senior Analyst, Investor Services | $110,000 to $115,000 | Boston, New York |
| Consultant | $125,000 to $145,000 | New York |
| Senior Consultant, Investor | $160,000 to $180,000 | New York |
| Consulting Project Team Lead | $190,000 to $220,000 | Boston, New York, San Francisco |
Each posting adds the same two lines: actual pay depends on experience and location, and a discretionary annual bonus sits on top. Neither the bonus size nor its range appears anywhere.
The gap in the table is the one a graduating senior cares about. No band is published for the entry Analyst rung. The only Analyst posting open on 8 October 2026 was the London one, and the firm's UK and India postings carry no pay lines at all. So the lowest published US consulting band belongs to a rung that already requires eighteen months of experience.
The experience minimums are published next to the bands, which lets you read the slope rather than the level. Senior Analyst asks for at least eighteen months. Consultant asks for three years. Project lead asks for five to seven.
Connect to ClearView, the three day route for PhDs
For doctoral candidates the firm runs its own front door, and it says so plainly: "We primarily hire through our Connect to ClearView program."
The graduate students page describes a three day immersion, historically hosted at the Newton headquarters, with one session in London. Managers lead student teams through an engagement built on pharmaceutical development strategy. The page lists revenue forecasting, primary and secondary research, storyline development and oral presentations among the things participants do.
Getting in requires interviews of its own. The page states: "Everyone will complete two virtual interviews with members of our Consultant Recruiting Team." It then says what those two are: "One of the interviews will be a case interview and one will be a behavioral interview."
One warning about that page. On 8 October 2026 it still carried deadlines of 15 February 2025 and 5 March 2025, and asked for a spring 2025 session commitment, while telling applicants to be finishing a degree in 2026. The page has not been refreshed for the current cycle. Treat the job board as the live calendar and ask recruiting for this year's dates.
What ClearView Healthcare Partners publishes about its own interviews
This is the rare firm that hands you its own material. Four published items, and no inference needed.
- Two full practice cases with answers. Both sit on the careers site, at practice case one and practice case two.
- A seven point prep list. It tells you to read a case prep book, study case types, practice one on one with a friend, join a consulting club, attend case workshops, run its own practice cases, and follow industry news.
- Eight things to do in the room. Two are unusually concrete: "Dress for success in business formal attire" and "Come prepared with pen and paper for case interviews".
- The format of the Connect to ClearView screen. Two virtual interviews, one case and one behavioral.
The firm also publishes what it wants heard during a case. The list says to "Create a tailored framework for the question you are trying to answer" and to "Be willing to put a stake in the ground, but be flexible when presented with new information".
What the firm never publishes is the shape of its standard process. Its careers FAQ answers six questions, and all six are about the job rather than the interview. So the number of rounds, the number of interviewers, and the existence of any online test remain unstated. We say nothing about them, because the firm says nothing about them. Putnam sits in the same life sciences market and publishes no interview material at all, though its campus posting prints cities, degrees, a 3.3 GPA floor and the size of a project team.
The firm's own insulin case, recalculated
Practice case one asks whether a mid sized pharmaceutical company can reach 300 million dollars of peak US sales with an inhaled insulin. The firm publishes the chain and the answer. Here is the chain, with the arithmetic redone by hand.
| Step | What the case gives | Exact result |
|---|---|---|
| Prevalence | 20M diabetes patients in the US | 20M |
| Segmentation | Type I 10%, Type II 90% | 2M and 18M |
| Diagnosis | 100% of Type I, 65% of Type II | 2M and 11.7M |
| Treatment | 100% of Type I, one third of Type II | 2M and 3.9M |
| Price | $80 a month per patient | $960 a year |
Multiply the last two rows and the market comes to 960 dollars times 5.9 million patients, or about 5.66 billion dollars. Against that, a 300 million dollar goal needs 5.3 percent of the market.
The firm's own answer is 5 percent, and it gets there honestly. It rounds 11.7 million up to 12 million and calls 960 dollars "~$1,000", and it marks both roundings in the text. Announcing a rounding is a case skill, so neither step is an error.
What the exercise shows is what happens when two roundings point the same way. Each one is small. Together they move the answer from 5.3 to 5.0, which is a tenth of the required share. In a real forecast that is the difference between a plan and a stretch.
So the move to practice here is a single sentence at the end: "That is about five percent, and I rounded up twice, so treat five as a floor." Three seconds, and it shows you watched your own arithmetic.
The second practice case holds up exactly. It builds US acute myeloid leukemia incidence from a 320 million population, a flat age distribution over eighty years, and two incidence rates. Checked by hand: 240 million people under sixty at one in 100,000 gives 2,400 cases, and 80 million over sixty at ten in 100,000 gives 8,000, for 10,400 a year. The published total is the same.
How we grade a market sizing chain
No firm publishes a marking scheme, and ClearView is no exception. The dimensions below are ours. They are what our own grader measures on a market sizing answer, with the weight each carries out of a hundred.
- Assumption chain30
- Scope25
- Arithmetic25
- Sanity check20
| Case math | Answer 40 · Working 25 · Units 15 · Interpretation 20 |
|---|---|
| Structuring | Coverage 45 · Separation 25 · Depth 20 · Concision 10 |
| Idea generation | Breadth 30 · Buckets 30 · Specificity 20 · Prioritisation 20 |
| Exhibits | Observation 25 · Implication 25 · So what 30 · Next test 20 |
| Synthesis | Answer first 35 · Evidence 25 · Risk 20 · Next step 20 |
Look at where the weight sits. Arithmetic takes 25, and the assumption chain takes 30. That ordering is the whole lesson of the insulin case: the number falls out of the chain, so a defensible chain beats a fast multiplication.
Sanity check carries 20, and it is the dimension the insulin case rewards most directly. The candidate who says "five percent of a six billion dollar market, and I rounded up twice" has done the check out loud. The market sizing drill is open without an account, and the weights behind it are set out on how an answer is assessed.
For practice on the shape of case this firm actually runs, our life sciences cases walkthrough builds a diagnostics market from an installed base, and pharma cases works the patent cliff arithmetic. Both use the same chain discipline the insulin case asks for.
What ClearView Healthcare Partners will not tell you
Every careers page, both practice cases, the services navigation, the leadership page, three press releases, the owner's portfolio page and all 34 live postings were read for this page. Here is what none of them answers.
- Headcount. No figure, at any date, on any page the firm or its owner controls.
- Revenue or profit. The firm is private and files nothing public.
- What GHO Capital paid. The release says undisclosed, and nothing since has said otherwise.
- The shape of the standard interview process. Rounds, interviewers and duration are all unstated. Only the Connect to ClearView screen is described.
- Whether an online assessment exists. No firm page names a test vendor, a format or a duration. That silence establishes only that we cannot say.
- The entry Analyst pay band. Published for Senior Analyst and above in the US, absent for the rung below.
- Bonus size. Every posting mentions a discretionary annual bonus and none sizes it.
- Internship conversion. The page says interns "may be asked to join" as Analysts, with no rate attached.
- Connect to ClearView class size. The firm calls selection competitive and gives no number of places.
- The 2026 to 2027 US campus calendar. The careers page says applications open in July without naming a year, and the live board carried only London campus roles on 8 October 2026.
One safety note the firm publishes itself. Its careers page warns that since 26 May 2023 a spear phishing scam has run fake interviews and offers under its name, often from the address [email protected]. It also says no external search firm without a contract is authorized to approach candidates for it. Check any approach against the real job board.

How this guide was made
- Written against a published editorial process, not from memory. Every claim about a firm's process is either linked to that firm's own page or absent. We say what we could not verify rather than filling the gap.
- Each page carries a dated source ledger, below. When a firm changes a programme or a deadline, the date tells you how far to trust what you just read.
We look for first-hand candidate accounts for every firm guide. Where we found none we could source, the page says so and carries the firm's own words instead. Nothing here is dressed up as testimony, and if your own experience contradicts what you read, tell us and we will correct it and date the change.
Something wrong or out of date here? Tell us and we will correct it and date the change.
